Back Garden restaurant at Dormy House


Farncombe Estate’s Culinary Director Martin Burge will be going head to head with the Estate’s Executive Chef, Jon Ingram, in a Food Festival Chef Off.

Martin will be showcasing a dish from the newly launch Back Garden restaurant at Dormy House, whilst Jon will be cooking up a dish from the Hook, a seafood inspired restaurant at The Fish Hotel. The questions is, who will be crowned this year’s winner?!


The Back Garden

A welcoming restaurant set up to showcase and celebrate the best of the back garden – literally. Guided by Culinary Director, Martin Burge, Head Chef, Sam Bowser, has created a concept where every single dish showcases the best of the Cotswolds.

Sustainability and seasonality are at the heart of the Back Garden philosophy; that means slow foods, high-welfare rare-breed meats, and responsibly cultivated grains and veg – all sourced and served in tune with the rhythms of the land. No pretension or gimmicks, just inventively prepared flavour-first food that’s true to the land it came from.
